is a simplified one. I enjoy simple recipes since I don't like spending hours in kitchens. Often I whip up concoctions from my imagination and other times I take recipes from here or there and veganize them. I will also share my love for good vegan beer and sometimes mixed drinks. If I remember to do so, I'll share anything good and vegan that I consume. If I dine out and it's enjoyable, the occasion must be documented.
When wardrobe shopping I thrift first or exchange clothes with friends or acquaintances. There is so much waiting to be found! Buying new is a last resort... Weeeell except for when I just haaaave to have those boots. [Tsk Tsk] I admit, boots do get the best of me.
If one staggers across this blog, I simply hope to inspire and bring awareness to the fact that eating and shopping mindfully is beneficial to our body and overall existence.▲▼ ☼
Mysterious as the owl
Intuitive as the wolf
Perceptive as the snake
Balanced as the eagle
Untamed as the wind
…I admire these.
I am Belanger, meaning warrior. I'd like to live up to that. I am an explorer of the unknown or the unknown to me. I'm easily inspired + fascinated every day and enjoy such a wide spectrum of things that I probably contradict myself. Bizarre behavior and anything strange or unusual attracts me. I'm a longboarder and a yogini except for when I fall off. I enjoy writing by candle light, watching the sun set with music, & socializing over good beer or wine. I've been living a vegan lifestyle for almost 8 years, began the journey at age 12 by becoming vegetarian because animals are not food to me. I'm down with all life though, including plants and weeds even though I eat them. As for humans, I'm not interested in belonging solely to any one particular group of people or ideas. Sociable, yet reclusive tendencies.
I went meat free as a kid because I naturally love animals. Although I will never eat eggs, they are something that can be eaten humanely. A hen is going to lay eggs regardless, if they aren’t fertilized you’re eating the equivalent of a woman’s period. Therefore, no big deal :). It turns evil when factory farming/greed comes into the mix. I love chickens and I plan to have some in my future menagerie and will encourage my friends and anyone to get their eggs from me…humanely, for free!
Ingredients: Tofu, Pickle Relish, Paprika, Garlic Powder, Mustard, Sea Salt, and Vegenaise. As you can see I also added kale…because well I love kale…but for a more traditional style leave the kale out.
I used extra firm tofu and cut the block in half. I boiled half of it for 25 minutes and blended the other half in a food processor with the ingredients listed above. Next I cut the boiled half of the tofu into strips and then put the blended mixture on top. Then placed marinated kale on top of that.
If I were making it just for myself it would have been much spicier but I needed this one to fit a range of taste buds. Everyone who tried it loved it ♡ !
